Let’s get festive and make some easy holiday treats!

These No Bake Holiday Rums Balls are the best way to kick off the holiday season with your grown up friends and family! They are rich and chocolatey, with the perfect hint of dark rum!

My tips to make the perfect boozy chocolate rum balls!

I use delicious melted chocolate as the base for this recipe. I find it works as a binder along with some corn syrup to help everything stick together. The addition of coconut oil helps to make the chocolate silky smooth.

I like to use corn syrup, although honey or maple syrup would work as a substitute.

You can use whatever rum you like. Personally, I like to use Kraken Rum because it is full of flavour that pairs so nicely with the chocolate!

I always use corn flakes as the crunch element in this recipe because it is a family tradition! My grandma always used them when she would make rum balls around the holidays. You will typically see vanilla wafers in most recipes, but I love my family tradition of using corn flakes. They add the perfect texture and flavour!

Chocolate sprinkles traditionally coat the outside of rums balls, although you can use any type of sprinkles you like! You can even use powdered sugar or cocoa powder.

Now lets get to it and roll up some delicious Rum Balls! They are so quick and easy to make 🙂

Ingredients:

5oz semi-sweet baking chocolate

1 tsp coconut oil

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1/4 cup cocoa powder

3 tbsp kraken rum

1 tsp vanilla extract

3 tbsp golden corn syrup

4 cups corn flakes

Pinch of salt

Sprinkles or powdered sugar for decorating

Method

In a glass bowl, add the semi-sweet baking chocolate and coconut oil. Heat in the microwave at 30 second increments until completely melted, stirring each time.

To the melted chocolate, add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Stir and then proceed to add the rum, vanilla extract and corn syrup. Stir until all of the ingredients are fully combined and smooth.

In a ziplock bag, add the cornflakes and crush with a rolling pin. Add the crushed corn flakes and a pinch of salt into the chocolate rum mixture and stir to combine. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes.

Roll the chocolate mixture in your hands to form the rum balls and coat them in sprinkles or powdered sugar. If needed, you can lightly dab the surface of the rum balls with water to help the sprinkles stick.

Enjoy!!
