The Dark and Stormy Cocktail is a deliciously refreshing drink that only uses 2 ingredients! Yes you read that correctly… 2 ingredients! You seriously can not get more simple than this!
So what are the star ingredients in a Classic Dark and Stormy?
Dark Rum and a good quality Ginger Beer
When it comes to the rum, I really like to use Kraken because it is a delicious full bodied dark rum that is also spiced so it has some really lovely hints of vanilla, ginger, cinnamon and clove. It goes perfectly with Fever Tree Ginger Beer… my absolute favourite ginger beer! If you have been following along then you have probably noticed I use this ingredient in cocktail recipes all the time!
I like to serve my Dark and Stormy with some fresh lime that you can squeeze over the cocktail before serving. I think that it adds the perfect tartness to really round out this cocktail. It is so freaking delicious!
Ingredients:
2 oz Dark Rum
Fever Tree Ginger Beer
Slice of lime for garnish
Method
Fill a cocktail glass with ice. Pour the fever tree ginger beer over the ice until the glass is 2/3 full. Top with the dark rum and garnish with a slice of fresh lime.
Stir and enjoy!
